The Top Must-Have Habits For High Performers

sword

If you are like me and you want to grow and ascend as a human being, there are certain foundational habits and strategies that need to be in place in order for the wheel of achievement and progress to turn.

What your definition of success is will be different from mine, but I believe there are key cornerstones in a high-performing life that every aspiring winner should cultivate.

But before we get any deeper I want you to know that this article is meant for a totally average human being in there. You could even be struggling in life, it doesn’t really matter what your current station in life is. What matters is that you are willing to do something about it – and that there is little to no limit to what you can achieve.

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” – Napoleon Hill

Let’s have a look at the ecosystem of habits that support success.

  • Goals
  • Meditation
  • Self-care
  • Nutrition
  • Self-education

GOALS

Every successful journey starts with specific goals and personal ideals written down. The trick, however, is to read your goals daily, as often as you can. Even better is to write your goals down as affirmations. For many, the concept of affirmations is too “woo-woo”.

But there are no-bullshit personalities that swear to the efficiency of using them. Have a look at Dan Pena on Youtube, he has a few videos on affirmations.

“People with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine.” – Brian Tracy

MEDITATION

Everyone with goals and aspirations will without a doubt experience a plateau period in their learning process, have to deal with negative thoughts such as doubt, frustration, anxiety, and defeat.

This is where meditation plays a huge benefactor. There are numerous forms of meditation and each has a slightly different mechanism and purpose.

I have tried several meditations and find Roy Masters’s mindfulness meditation to be excellent. It is called “Be Still and Know” –  you can find it on YouTube. It is very beginner-friendly! He has specifically stated that his form of meditation cures stress and promotes relaxation which I can confirm.

Work yourself up to 20 minutes each morning, after a few months keep adding the number of sessions you have each day or sit for longer.

SELF-CARE

I personally hate going to the gym, I can’t stand it any longer. But taking care of the body is an absolute must in life whether you want to improve or not.

My routine is exercising 6 times a week – 3 days running, and 3 days of Hatha Yoga. As your health improves it will create a positive feedback loop which will, in turn, increase your productivity and focus in general.

NUTRITION

There are some controversial books out there such as “Empty Harvest” – By Bernard Jensen. In it he found that most of our vegetables and grains today are severely reduced in nutrition.

Leaving most of us deficient in certain vitamins and minerals. In order for us to remedy this, there are supplements we can take to fix this.

  • TMG (trimethylglycine)
  • Kelp capsules
  • Vitamin D3
  • Calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc
  • Selenium

SELF-EDUCATION

“Not happy with where you are in life? Change your input. What you read, what you listen to, what you watch, and who you spend time with, are your inputs. Your input shapes the story you tell yourself – and this story determines your thinking, which directs your actions.” – Zig Ziglar

Reading every day is of crucial importance. After a hard days work – listening to self-development works as a reminder and motivation to keep grinding until you reach your goal. You are reminded of why you are on your path.

I’m always on the lookout for books on personal development, business, blogging, writing, illustration, music production, etc. Try to read for an hour a day on your chosen goals or ideals.
Hopefully, this article works as a friendly reminder to keep on keeping on.

Until next time – Bogdan
